
Carolyn J. Feimster, SCMD is the owner/president of CJF MARKETING INTERNATIONAL, with offices in Hollywood, Florida and North Brunswick, New Jersey.
The company’s primary focus is on developing results oriented programs to enhance the marketing, tourism development, economic development, customer service and retail productivity of shopping centers, cities, downtown retail districts and other commercial properties and organizations. Projects include developing and implementing Business, Marketing, Economic Development and Tourism Plans; developing re-merchandising programs; providing seminars and training on marketing strategies, customer service and retail tourism programs; coordinating grand openings and the training of marketing directors. Present clients include General Growth Properties, Inc./America’s Premier Shopping Places, South Street Seaport in New York City, Natick Collection in Boston, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida, Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston and the Middle Eastern Council of Shopping Centers in Dubai, U.A.E.
Previous international clients include The Araneta Group in Manila, Philippines; Empresas Fonalledas (owners of Plaza Las Americas and Plaza Del Caribe in Puerto Rico), the Curaçao Action Group and the Downtown Management Organization in Curaçao, N.A.; Merlin International Properties in Sydney, Australia; Meta Corporation in Aruba; Redondo Construction in San Juan, PR; and various retailers in St. Maarten, N.A. Domestic clients included The Galleria of Ft. Lauderdale owned by KravcoSimon, Harborplace and The Gallery in Baltimore, Bay Harbor Development Association in Bay Harbor Islands a Miami suburb, The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Swerdlow Real Estate Group in Hollywood, FL; SEC Commercial Realty, Inc. in Miami, FL; the Enterprise Development Company in Columbia, MD, with project assignments throughout the U.S.; Disney Development in Orlando, FL; and the Exchange at Church Street Station in Orlando, FL.
Previously, Ms. Feimster was the Director of Corporate Marketing/Director of International Sales for Turnberry Associates, a national real estate development/management company located in Aventura, FL. She directed the marketing for their regional malls and power centers, including the marketing, tourism development and customer service activities. This included establishing and implementing the International Tourism Development Program with frequent participation in sales missions to Latin American countries to promote Aventura Mall as a shopping destination.
Other positions held include forming the Economic Development Office for the City of North Miami, a position created to attract new business and industry to the City, as well as to develop business retention/expansion programs, to expand the tax base. Additionally Ms. Feimster was the Corporate Marketing Director for the Enterprise Development Co. and was responsible for the marketing of nine specialty centers and community centers. Other positions held over the past twenty years have been with the Oxford Development Company, Pembrook Management, Inc. and the DeBartolo Corp.
Ms. Feimster was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of the University of Florida Center for Tourism, Research and Development, she holds the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Senior Certified Marketing Director (SCMD) designation, is a year-2000 recipient of the ICSC Trustees Distinguished Service Award, was awarded the Shopping Tourism Person of the Year Award for 2003 from Shop America Alliance, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors and Program Chair of SKAL International – NYC chapter, is a member of the Research Committee for SYTA (Student Travel Association of America), is a member of the Membership Committee for RSAA (Receptive Services Association of America, was the Chair for the Caribbean Conference on Tourism for 2004, was the Co-chair of the ICSC 2001 Tourism, Leisure and Lifestyle Conference, was the ICSC Eastern Divisional Public Relations and Community Service Chairman (formerly held the same position in the Southern Division), served on the ICSC National Public Relations Task Force, ICSC Maxi Screening Committee, ICSC Alliance Committee, ICSC Conference of the Americas Committee, and the Advisory Board of Shop America. She serves as an ICSC faculty member of the Institutes, the University of Shopping Centers, for overseas seminars – including Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Bangkok, Thailand; Istanbul, Turkey; Kuwait; Buenos Aires and Cordoba, Argentina; Montevideo, Uruguay; and Mexico City and Cancun, Mexico - and participates on panels for the ICSC Fall Convention, Conference of the Americas, Idea Exchanges and other programs. She is also a member of Urban Land Institute, International Economic Development Council, Florida Redevelopment Association and a former member of the ICSC Certified Marketing Director Test Writing Committee and the ICSC Florida Deal Making Conference. Ms. Feimster was the Chairman of the 1997 ICSC South Florida Idea Exchange, formerly a member of the Shop Miami Committee of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as the Bureau’s Tourism/Marketing Committee. Additionally, she has a regular column on Tourism in Jonesreport, assists with ICSC publications and has received numerous shopping center and advertising awards. Ms. Feimster is a graduate of the Univ. of FL with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Communications.
